  A perfect film!!

  Watch it when you want a Good film that doesn’t make you feel sad. 

  Make sure you have good snacks stocked up. Had to pause half way through to whip up a sweet potato and babaganoush thing as I could not handle the hunger. 4 stars for the potato.

  The Brutalist 2024

  A bit hamfisted in the second half but overall I really enjoyed this. It has an unusual filmic grammar that means I’m perpetually a bit on edge and so always engaged. Not boring! Enjoy a film that just feels a bit weird, but somehow still works, also not weird in an art house way like look at me I’m so intentionally weird but just unexpected mixups.

   More films need intervals, facilitating a second half popcorn frenzy. 

   Didn’t realise the director also made vox lux, which I also enjoyed in a very similar way.
