I loved Richard Stanley's Hardware and when I heard he was attempting Lovecraft I had to see this. It's like The Thing on a farm on drugs with a mad Nicolas Cage (the best version of Cage imho...see Mandy) and Tommy Chong! The psychedelic trippy effects were mesmerising and added to the atmosphere. Apparently Stanley is doing more Lovecract adaptations and will be or has started to make Dr. Moreau again...if you love Stanley's other films or The Thing or Mandy...you'll have a ball with this one...just don't get put off by all the talk of Alpaca's.

The House That Vanished 1973
I quite liked Larraz's Whirlpool...apart from the ending. The House That Vanished didn't keep my attention and was a proper slog to get through. All the same themes are there with the highly strung killer in love with his auntie and the end was very similar to Whirlpool too. Neither of them hold up to Symptoms in my opinion.
