I thought the concept was really interesting- it offered a way of exploring the story without being too lolitaesque in its execution (I don’t know how well that would be received in the 2020s)- whilst avoiding being too tame and palatable- which I think would be to misrepresent its content/the subject matter
I also think the meta-lens made room for further considerations
- not only what kind of a person would r* a child and later go on to marry…
as someone with a dead dad n an incredibly supportive step-father, I really appreciated this portrayal
felt very honest and rlly resonated with me
oddly felt seen
oh so silly
convoluted in the best way- for all the obvious things- there was quite a bit of clever subtlety- like lemon and tangerine and their respective comments about getting shot in the neck n the chest n how things eventually transpired- again picking up on this theme of control (or rather our lack thereof…)
got progressively better- I started to really get into it
this theme of fate- serendipity, contrivance, control, bad luck, good luck, karma
reminded me of the butterfly effect
lots of levity
I enjoyed this
