  Visually it’s quite pretty but unfortunately much of the band’s music becomes an afterthought to Andy Warhol, John Cale’s avant-garde influences, and people opining about black clothing and the idea of “cool.” There’s nuance and depth in both their self titled album and Loaded that is discounted by the film just because Cale was replaced by (the criminally underappreciated) Doug Yule. That being said, any chance to hear Jonathan Richman share his infectious enthusiasm is worth a watch.
