  Its Oscar nominations for Demi/Picture are undoubtedly cool as hell and certainly worth celebrating for just how outside the box they are for an Academy that regularly pushes horror aside, but I’m inclined to say it’s Fargeat’s nomination for Best Director that’s one of the most inspired nominations I’ve ever seen. Insane amount of precision to make this all work and she pulls it off with the utmost aplomb. Here’s to women cooking in genre spaces and not being afraid…

  Rented out an entire theater auditorium to watch this on the big screen tonight and it was a truly wonderful, even magical experience. Hans Zimmer’s score I’m certain was touched by the divine, the voice cast is magnificent, and the animation still looks amazing!!! I don’t understand how every other animated film that integrated 3D effects in the late 90s looks understandably dated but this one could’ve been released yesterday and I don’t think hardly anyone would bat an eye?!? Astounding!
