  While light on the Harryhausen effects (surprisingly), a really thoughtful, silly, steampunk adventure flick with some nifty insights. Better script and performances than I remember, too!

  Thoughts from a sold out crowd:
  - the emotion really hit me during the Prayer for Peace
  - the flames in this movie are the most vivid and terrifying of any Godzilla movie; there is a rawness to the destruction that no other movie matches
  - the entirety of the climax is mournful, elegiac, unlike any other big action movie I can think of (maybe Return of the King?)
  - still a perfect movie
