One of the weirder time travel mechanics I've seen in our time travel movie month.

It can't totally decide what kind of movie it is. If it's a straight romance, there isn't nearly enough chemistry between the mains to sustain it. The ending with the penny made me laugh, which I don't think was the point.

The setting on Mackinac Island and the score are both great though!

I don't usually review/log short films, but this somehow transcends what short films usually do and feels much more like a feature film that happens to be very short. Whatever, I don't have to have to be consistent, this is my Letterboxd goddammit.

Really good hard sci-fi that still manages to be funny and keep moving. Brad Pitt's performance is really great - he manages to be believably manic instead of just a caricature.

It's bizarre how many movies are interested in militant animal rights activists in the 1990s.

Sorta crazy that the guy who did the score for this isn't the same guy who did the Dune score. Very similar sound vibe.

I love a movie about smart people doing important things very competently. I have always been a big fan of Contact and it is obviously a huge influence here. Amy Adams is wonderful in this - Jeremy Renner is kinda meh.

I just really like that this movie isn't afraid to be complicated, but also does enough explaining to be possible to follow. It's a good balance.
