  Wow. The quintessential film noir.

  Jack Nicholson at his very best: cynical, emotive, and powerful as the film's JJ Gittes.

  Robert Towne's masterful screenplay is authentic and is rightfully regarded as legendary - it truly is some of the best of its time, and all time.

  Deserving of the Oscar for Best Picture that year, if not for a little film known as the Godfather Part II...

  Very disappointed with this film.

  1) For a movie that won Best Musical/Comedy, the songs are utter tripe.
