I feel so strongly about the violence and gore in this movie, and that feeling is as positive as it can be. It feels so incredibly real in a way that I feel like many other movies/ directors would over-or-under-do. Damn, this is a good movie. I always love a movie you can feel. I felt hot and sticky watching the sweat bead up on everyone's forehead in every scene. There is so much anger on the screen and you can feel it. I really liked the performances of the leads. Nothing groundbreaking to my modern mind that has seen countless hours of procedural cop shows, but it was still a good little mystery.

Great performances, fantastic shots and cinematography, but the whole thing really felt like it was choking on its own self importance.
