  “People shouting from the windows and balconies, I don’t know what it is… it’s shalom… the Hebrew word for peace.”

  I was captivated basically the entire time. I think this will easily take its place among other newsroom stories such as Spotlight (2015) and Argo (2012).
  The use of live footage was expertly integrated and while there is really no room for pause, the pacing is just fast enough to keep you engaged without feeling rushed.

  “I lie… A lot. Not about this.”

  I went in with low standards, and feeling pretty good about Marvel, after having just recorded an episode of “Deconstructing the MCU”. That feeling lasted until the third act.

  “You cannot start without me.”

  While I’m reading the many reviews here praising TÁR for its metaphors and outstanding performance by Cate Blanchett (All of which are absolutely worthy of praise), I have to call attention to a few things potentially missed.

  Todd Field’s screenplay deserves so much credit. He did his work when it came to this feature. All the jargon, all the appropriate composers to their appropriate pieces. In terms of musical contextual accuracy, this film outdoes even Whiplash (2014).…
