Society of the Snow 2023
I have seen both the 1977 and 1993 film adaptations. I consider the 1993 film to be one of the most fascinating true stories I've ever seen and already thought it was a masterpiece. Knowing the story and having found the actors from back then outstanding, I didn’t expect the film to captivate me again. The stunning visuals, great music, and the perfect performances of all the actors exceeded my expectations. In my opinion, it’s even better than the older versions.

I'm a bit torn. The film had its moments that caught my attention, but many others that nearly put me to sleep. The main reason I gave it a chance was because of the cast. Adam Driver is a fantastic actor, and it was nice to see Jon Hamm and Michael C. Hall in supporting roles. While the film does provide some interesting information, it's rather dry and not very cinematic. A documentary could have achieved the same. Still, the movie isn't bad, it's just not a must-see, and I wouldn't watch it again.
