Interminable rehashing of the last 3 years of Hollywood storytelling. The multiverse is overwrought and what made the first one so fun has been diluted here resulting in saccharine nonsense made for screenshot culture (e.g., spider-man pointing meme). The animation is quite good and the people in the theatre seemed to enjoy it, but I am officially tapping out of the superhero game.
An entirely meretricious exercise. The movie has cinematic verve to it albeit one that is not served by Cooper’s performance. I learned nothing about Leonard Bernstein that I otherwise did not know; my understanding of classical music was not deepened; however, I’ve learned more than I ever cared to about Bradley Cooper watching this.
