In the Mood for Love 2000
some great moments but ultimately feels like a film thats constrained by one basic theme, love lost to time and regret and cultural judgement, and decorates itself with an arrangement of purposeless aesthetic moments, editing tricks, empty style etc. to disguise its lack of exploration of this theme. strange seeing after ozu who creates a text that’s rich and layered and open to so many subjective interpretations, it is what it is with this one
