call this the brutalist the way it falls off in the second half
(I actually don’t mind the second half of the brutalist that much, the joke was just there. had to make it. kitano would understand)
some of this feels quite clunky and poorly directed, there’s a whole subplot involving a sexual harassment scandal that just feels like a cheap netflix drama, and by and large the film lacks a lot of the thick atmosphere of classic egoyan, which is most detrimental at the start, before the plot starts to unfold
