Kubrick masterclass in showing the loss of empathy during war. Paths of Glory does a phenomenal job at making you feel disgusted by the way militaries and government agencies in general operate. I’ve never felt more sick to my stomach watching a movie than I did during a certain scene at the end - won’t spoil but watch it and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Then to cap it all off, Dax allowing the bar full of soldiers to…

98/100 — A powerful showcase of a true story from Brazil in the 1970s. Incredible acting, especially from the lead, Fernanda Torres (Best Actress winner imo). Extremely well done honoring the exiled, lost, and separated. More people need to see this, and I am picking it as my last minute decision for Best Picture.

52/100 — Wanted to make a joke on here that if Sandra Bullock or anyone else needed an eligible bachelor for a green card in available, but deportation jokes seem a little off right now :/

69/100 — “Black Bag” should’ve been a lot better than this score, and it may even be. The reveal at the end redeems this movie entirely, but I found myself asking far too many questions throughout the main act, and not in a good way. The final dinner scene is absolutely incredible though, and reminds the audience of Soderbergh’s greatness.

95/100 — Extremely touching documentary. I cried for about 30 minutes straight. Gave me some hope that cycles can be reversed, and change can occur. Such an incredible event. Would highly recommend.

95/100 — This movie is a piece of art, and it celebrates the artists so wonderfully. Every time “as himself” came up in the credits I cried even more. I’m not sure how many people have won supporting actor by playing themselves but it would be merited for Clarence Maclin. And I would be shocked if Colman Domingo does not get respected by the Academy for his performance. Nothing will radicalize you like an (accurate) depiction of the US prison system and the beautiful people we have stuck inside it. Well done.
