This one felt like it took 3,000 years to end. But there were some cool Miller shots throughout.
Weird, but a pretty good watch. Glad Paulie turned his life around.
RIP Darryl Dawkins.
I watched this movie after listening to a podcast about the War in the Pacific. It kept my attention. It is an interesting depiction of one of the most horrific naval catastrophes in history, but some bizarre choices were made.
Most of it centers around fake stories the writers thought up to add personality to the unfortunate, shark-hounded seamen. Although obvious, metaphors couldn't play themselves out naturally; the writers instead had to spoonfeed them to you by way of excruciating dialogue.
A very long movie, but the story is one worth telling, although this version was over-the-top melodramatic.
