Haven’t seen Snowpiercer but definitely feel this showcases the challenges of trying to make a film in a language not native to you; passages of dialogue that feel strangely unrealistic (not in a stylistic way, either) coupled with moments of stagnation where nothing is achieved in a plot or subtextual manner - very reminiscent of dialogue in student films where the intent is to replicate the eb-and-flow of verbal conflict but fails miserably.
