Breathtaking landscape shots reminiscent of “Lawrence of Arabia”. Kristin Scott Thomas (Katherine) plays the happy-go-lucky romantic foil to Ralph Fiennes’s more somber character, Almásy. I buy the romance and how easily Almásy becomes possesive of Katherine even after stating he dislikes ownership.
Minghella really pulled out all the stops with this joint; some of the blocking and shots were eye candy.

Fennell has a great eye for visuals and some meme-able dialogue but the overall movie doesn’t gel like it ought to, which is a shame. There’s a bit of raunchiness for raunchiness sake, this is not a problem tbh but once you clock it that shit loses its efficacy quickly - like come on, I had a tumblr account you can’t faze me.
