I'm Still Here 2024
They were so happy. . .
I went into this movie without reading much about it and of course, it's a true story. The most shattering films are.
Seriously, it's powerful films like these that need recognition. Feels like a disgrace for this special film to even be in the same category as freaking Emilia Perez and then end up with zero wins.
I'm sick.

Hard Truths 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I freaking LOVE Mike Leigh. I am so glad he worked with Marianne Jean-Baptiste again! Almost 30 years later. How time flies. Also her skin is amazing.
By the end of this my lips were so dry bc my mouth was just open the entire time. The scene in the sofa shop haha.
Are. You. Threatening me?I was rooting for Moses the entire time. I hate it when you can tell someone or a character is nice and gentle inside but the world's just kind of made them to retreat into themselves.
WONDERFUL performances.
The ending BROKE me okay?

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters 1985
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Creating a beautiful work of art and becoming oneself are identical.
I think one of the most striking aspects of this film is its score. It's ethereal, even hypnotic.
As the title suggests, the film is divided into four chapters, each with its own distinct visual style. The cinematography was insane, capturing Mishima's early life in the most beautiful colours and his final years in stark black and white— both in exquisite detail.
A profound exploration of the human condition, the enduring power of art, and the complexities of one man's quest for perfection.
Worth all the flowers.
