Best joke of the movie is that they hit the sell on Sandler being an NFL player within the first 30 seconds.

You can’t just have a black comedian exclusively to make racially charged jokes.

I did forget this is the one where Adam Sandler plays prison basketball against a black guy.

A very fun concept, the oldest example of in the hall of the mountain king being creepy that I know and an almost slapstick performance by Peter Lorre to keep you entertained through his stretches of silent performance.

Ends up dragging a little once Lorre is marked with the M.

Bizzarro film with trans Joker finds herself to a backdrop of abusive trans man J. Todd who grows into also joker but Leto’s take.

Anyway, hits some actual earnest scenes and the crowd at the cube seems to indicate that it spoke to the queer experience because they loved it. I mean singing along to songs invented by the film using the subtitles.

Speaking of, still a better musical number in this than all of Joker 2 has. Tells us about the protagonist, actually shows them grow, all in song. Joker 2 could never- have another old jazz standard about being in love.

Batman eat your heart out. You will never be El Angel.

For 1967, having 5 women pivotal to the plot and 4 of them as combatants is pretty insane. The fact they’re either Luchadoras - Wonder Woman could never - or werepanthers with eyebrows sharper than their fangs goes fucking crazy.

It’s hard to know if the sexualisation isn’t that bad or if 60s Mexico cinema wouldn’t allow any more but at least there was only a couple occasions of damselling the otherwise incredible heroines.

Tongolele is an amazing name also?
