The Killer 2023
This ain’t the first time we’ve been asked to root for the (serial?) killer in a film, but it’s possibly the first time we’ve been asked by David Fincher, and I had no dramas complying. Fassbender makes The Killer a palatable protagonist with equal parts glib nihlism to mad squabbles (see Killer vs Brute) and maybe, a little something for the heartless bastard in all of us.
