I mostly watch horror films and bad rom coms. 60's and 70's are my favorite horror decades. 🖤

Night of the Dark Full Moon 1972
I was very surprised by this one. It has a fever dream quality to it that I am always looking for in horror films. Goes at a slow pace but is very effective in building up to an absolute nightmare of a conclusion. Also has a flashback sequence that feels utterly cursed. I absolutely loved this and will be adding it to my rotation of yearly Christmas rewatches.

Garden State 2004
I loved this film so much as a teenager. As someone who also spent their entire childhood and early adulthood heavily medicated, I did find Andrew's portrayal here very relatable and compelling in a way I haven't felt from any other film. I get some of the criticisms of this but I don't think they all have merit. I could have done without some of the sub plots with the side characters but ultimately this one still held up for me on rewatch.

Dance of the Dead 2005
Absolutely fucking abysmal. By far the worst and most offensive Masters of Horror episode I’ve seen so far, and that’s saying a lot after watching Takashi Miike’s Imprint.
The characters were unbearable, the plot progression was nonsensical, and the camera editing was headache inducing. I can’t believe Tobe Hooper went from making The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to doing something like this.Translated from by -
In a Violent Nature 2024
Arthouse torture porn. An inevitable but unfortunate direction for the horror genre to go in. I don't have much to say about this that hasn't already been said in other reviews, but I found this quite tedious to get through. Not necessarily because it had slow parts, but more so because of how mediocre a large portion of this was. Truly painful acting and dialogue, on par with a lot of straight to video schlock. Bizzare editing choices and one of the most grating ending monologues I've ever sat through.
