The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 2013
Leaving this review on a two-hour advertisement for eHarmony featuring Ben Stiller as a dissociative incel. Reminds me of myself (a professional skateboarder).
Celibacy aside, the product placement in this movie was egregious - Cinnabon?! Ironically, the shameless commercialism seemed tasteful compared to the limp-wristed critique of alienated labour under capitalism.
Nevertheless, the formulaic structure of this movie has a silver lining. Once artificial intelligence removes the need for human contribution to corporate mass media, the leeches who ‘produce’ this crap will be plunged into the economically disenfranchised masses to whom they once pandered.
