Really well done true story starring Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu and Finn Cole. Loved the use of more practical effects to help tell the story. Happy I didn’t read much about this movie before we went to the secret cinema screening tonight as the way the film unfolded was real edge of seat stuff. Definitely a happy surprise.

Rewatched this on IMAX recently. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years since this originally hit the silver screen. It’s still as fresh and original today as it was when it first released. The beauty of this screening was that a lot of people at the screening hadn’t seen it. It was wonderful to sit through this movie again with a mainly fresh audience to experience this rollercoaster ride all over again. Killer performances, cinematography, direction etc. One of the best movies of this genre ever.

Batsh*t crazy but an almost hypnotic experience driven by an excellent Tangerine Dream soundtrack. The new Vinegar Syndrome 4K disc is the best it’s ever looked. Shame Mann didn’t help to unearth the unseen footage. I guess the original theatrical version is all we’ll ever see.

Cyberpunk classic that gets better with each watch. The music, animation and story are all top notch in an enthralling viewing experience. Would love to see this as an IMAX experience one day but for now the 4K UHD disc more than suffices. Back in the day this was the movie that opened the Manga door for me and I’ve never looked back.
