The Substance 2024
The first two thirds of this move are really great. Demi Moore was born to play this role. Margaret Qualley was great as well. Even Dennis Quaid is perfect as a misogynist especially since he just outed himself as a MAGA CHUD in real life. The score by Raffertie slaps so hard. Makeup and practical effects are also amazing. Longlegs 2024
It’s not a perfect movie, but for the genre it is incredibly close. I can’t remember the last time a movie was so hyped and I wasn’t disappointed. Shoutout to the sense of dread that has been masterfully implemented by the set designers, and the immersion of the period (Early 90’s) by the production designers. There is also an endless amount of very interesting shots/angles coming from the cinematographer Andres Arochi. I’m not sure where Osgood Perkins found this guy…
