Night Train to Munich 1940
Big fan of The Lady Vanishes so I had to check out that other train movie starring Margaret Lockwood. Many peculiar similarities here, most notably the return of the two cricket-loving chaps. Also there’s the landscape miniatures, as seen in the likewise familiar sweeping opening shot—although this one takes us to Hitler’s mountain cabin, yikes! A plot of hidden identities unfolds and about an hour later we’re finally aboard the titular night train.

Still the OG train mystery as far as I’m concerned. Set in a souvenir snow globe of an imaginary European country this early Hitchcock is one of the most charming and hilariously British things I’ve ever seen. Margaret Lockwood is such a cutie!
