  Linklater is the GOAT at making boring movies that are still fun to watch. I don’t really relate to these youths but it seems like a fun time to grow up in. Lots of shenanigans etc.

  I can’t tell if I am supposed to absolutely hate the boomer mom and the pretentious Liev Schreiber boyfriend, or if it was just one of those “that’s how everyone was in the 90s” things. But what good is a family-in-a-car movie without at least 2 hateable family members?

  Had to give this movie a rewatch today in honor of Gene Hackman’s passing. It is one of the most perfect films ever made. It’s my favorite role of every actor involved and my favorite Anderson film. Every frame, every line of dialogue has something that makes me smile. Watching this film fills my heart with joy. Play this shit at my funeral.
