Chris Evans is phenomenal. This is a dark movie but there is a sudden moment so dark I laughed out loud. I fully subscribe to the idea that this is a sequel to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.

Robert Pattinson is great, but overall the movie was disappointing. It didn’t delve into the philosophy of life and death quite as much as the book. A lot of weird stuff was added to make it more “quirky”, and I really don’t think the story needed it. Maybe I shouldn’t have read the book beforehand. What was with the sauce thing though? Was that supposed to be a metaphor that went over my head or just an added quirkyness?

Someone tell me why the theater was so silent? I appreciate the lack of singing from the audience, but Ariana Grande was hilarious as Glinda and there was hardly any laughter. Are people just too stupid to appreciate a good joke unless it’s over the top obvious? My disappointment lay solely with the audience, the movie was wonderful.
