  As a fan of I’m Not There & Inside Llewyn Davis (along with plenty of other Dylan-related media), I assumed that this post-Walk Hard big budget Dylan thing couldn’t not be bullshit.

  But damnit I really enjoyed it. Killer acting, truly handsome production from top to bottom, and, thankfully, the film doesn’t attempt to make Dylan any more approachable or less inscrutable than he always has been.

  Really really really my shit.

  One of my favorite things about this is how densely populated the film is with memorable faces and striking performances in the bit parts. This feels essential to the mission of the film and what it might be exploring in regards to performance, identity, and feeling as though you’ve become a minor character in someone else’s story. Perfect synergy between director, actors, and casting director.
