It's hard to even review this film because of how personal it seems. It's like telling someone their diary entry has poor sentence structure.
While there are issues I have with the first 1/3rd of the movie I think the film does a great job of fixing that in the back half. I was glued to my TV, jaw on the floor for the last 45 minutes.
A fun romp that veers into horror enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely a movie I'd pop on for a fun night but nothing ground breaking
A good film with confusing marketing
The trailers made this film seem like it was going to be an action-filled mess. I'm glad I read into it and explored it today. Overall I was impressed, but I don't think I'll rewatch this movie. The script was weak but good performances by Dunst and Spaeny save it enough to be enjoyable. The themes are a bit heavy handed and stated aloud but it's an interesting view on how we consume war media.
A solid film that isn't as feminist as it tries to be and more enforcing of misogynistic tropes than it tries to be, but the acting and general imagery carries. It could probably be 20 minutes shorter but I'm not mad about the ending.
