  At one point during this film, in narration, Ralphie states - “Seeing Christmas through your children’s eyes has the power to summon long-forgotten memories and emotions.”

  This line is a summary of the charm of the first movie. A Christmas Story is a film about nostalgia, the innocence of youth, and how temporary that innocence truly is. This movie threw that theme in the dumpster so that it could instead retread a path through the first movie’s set pieces. A…
