The first 20 minutes were good and the opening credit sequence was cool! There was some humorous dialog but way too much of it. Too much time explaining what could have been shown. If you are a local it has some extra charm, but the majority of the movie is a bit tedious to get through.

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time 2021
Somehow, this movie lived up to the expectation built up over years of delays. It resolves the story perfectly in possibly the only way that makes sense. All of the characters grow and become their own people by leaving the past and the people in it behind, but not forgotten. While some may find Anno's attitude towards the series and it's fans condescending, his heart is in the right place. This ending makes me feel okay to let Evangelion go.
