The Killer's Game 2024
As my brother says “Oh snap!”
That is my sentiment every time Dave Bautista does something unspeakable to someone trying to kill him. My personal favorite is when he slams an assassin neck first onto the remains of a broken window and drags them across it, using it to open their carotid artery.
This was fun, and sexy, and funny, and action packed and ridiculous. Better than I expected it to be mostly thanks to no one telling the actors they weren’t in a romance drama in several scenes.

Probably Clint Eastwoods finest work honestly. The pacing just right. Making tension in a story you probably know going into it. Using time skips but not so much they leave you lost. Poignant timing of dialogue, sound effects, scene changes. It just gets all the little things right.

Pitch Black 2000
Sci-fi movies from the late 90s and early 2,000s are unbeatable. A mixture of practical effects and CGI. They made these movies good by exploring concepts that are at times brutal. Like leaving everyone else to die because you are scared for yourself. This movie is otherwise great but suffers from some really rough cuts and editing that make some scenes really confusing.
