  The first half is great and sets up a couple interesting directions I thought it might go. Unfortunately it goes to neither and ends in a bit of an underwhelming (and even silly) way. There’s a lot of palpable tension for most of it but the scares are lacking.

  The time jump aspect between past and present was done really well. I always had questions and the answers were eventually all given to me. Upon watching the first episode the scares seemed like they were  going to be the typical jump scare style but they really held back as the season progressed and they got much more sophisticated, building dread and atmosphere that led to and fed into the scares. The character development felt clunky at the start but…
