I will say this film is well shot with some excellent music choices, and features decent performances for the tone it was going for. But I just didn’t vibe with the quirkiness, and even being a fan of dark comedies, the humor just didn’t hit for me. I had hoped to go bananas for “The Monkey” (I’m sorry), but I found it too tedious to really have fun with it.

First thing’s first: this is one of the more uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had at the cinema, as through every frame permeates such a palpable feeling of dread. The cinematography is brilliant, the performances of the main cast are stellar, the slow-burn pacing is sublime. It’s truly such a chilling collection of scenes! Unfortunately, even though all the pieces are there, Longlegs stumbles a bit for me in the third act and doesn’t completely stick the landing. But even with a few missteps here and there, it’s definitely one I’d recommend!
