A bunch of stuff aged poorly on contact (the broad racial and religious stereotypes, the sexism, the stalking subplot). THAT SAID, it's a fast-moving, funny and well-shot sports comedy. And the stadium scenes are engrossing in how amped the crowds were.
Too many close-up exposition conversations about the movie’s events and The Entity. That said, The Entity throws a hell of a party. Hire The Entity for your vacant club promoter role!
The action was great, and the comedy was good. Shout-out to the brunettes who Ethan can’t help but go gaga for and Esai Morales for being handsome and shouting “ETHAN!!!!!!!!!!” like Colonel Klink.
The lead rarely spoke above a whisper in-between being a jerk, the boss was a dummy (typical white male CEO!), the boss's sister was a maniac, and everyone had the charisma of a Wonder Bread slice. Oh, and the scene-specific musical lyrics were bad!
But this movie was nutty in a way that was beyond the control of the Hallmark trappings. I almost respect that!
