woah!!! glad i finally got around to this!! this was really up my alley. an extremely stylish, shoegazey, and seemingly no budget japanese indie film with nothing but vibes. kinda reminded me of Anno's stuff from around this time (Love + Pop, Ritual, etc) or a movie like August in the Water (1995) but more deliberately disjointed. this movie has this consistent haziness to it that kinda makes it all feel like a half-remembered dream, it's honestly very cozy. also…

i love art made by insane people. joke's aside though this is maybe the most deranged thing i've ever seen made in flash animation, in the best way possible. genuinely off-putting, sad, and disturbing. i also don't think people give some of the sequences credit enough from an animation perspective, there's some really fluid moments here and there when it matters most. anyways it's truly sad to see how emily's turned out after all this. that is all.
