The only other movie I’ve seen where one actor plays two main characters was Adam Sandler in Jack and Jill. That was a while ago—also in theaters. Bobby does it better.

The movie seems to be getting a lot of backlash for trying to imitate classic mob films, catering to older audiences who just want another mafia story, and for being “just another repetitive mob movie.” I enjoyed it.

It took me a few minutes to adjust to De Niro…

Met my expectations exactly—didn’t exceed them, didn’t fall short.

The bad guys were pretty boring. They were somewhat complex and tied well to the main girl, but I just didn’t enjoy the group It wasn’t the kind of antagonist you get excited about seeing defeated.

The deaths were great, and the gore was fun. The booby traps in the guy’s house were a cool addition, and the final kill was neat.

The movie needed better characters overall. None of them were particularly likable—except good old Ted, the greatest sidekick in all of cinema, coming to save the day once again.

Now that’s a movie. Nothing beats rewatching a film when you’re older and realizing it’s even better than you remember. It makes you appreciate it that much more. Going to watch this franchise all the way through now.

I can appreciate the movie, especially for its visuals. I thought it was extremely, extremely nice to look at, and I think the camera angles and scene transitions—along with the ruggedness of certain moments—were done very well, effectively depicting a lot of the emotions.

Brody did a fantastic job. He conveyed every level of emotion you could want, and I think his performance alone will make me want to watch more of his work. That’s all we really need from…
