Need more unserious Beyoncé movie roles!! I used to gag at the Britney cameo in the beginning. This is pop culture. This is cinema.
Loved this as a teen but the older I get the more I realize it’s kind of a cliche. Still entertaining, but people who base their personality over this film need to see a real heavy-hitter like Ladybird or Moonlight.
This is the only movie that I’ve ever had to put my hands over my eyes in the theater. I’ve never been so uncomfortable for an entire movie.
Rather than a bunch of jump scares you are forced to sit in the tense dread of the inevitable.
It felt like Friday the 13th, It Follows, mixed with off-mapping wilderness in Skyrim. It’s a third person slasher, almost like a video game at times.
I love when slashers can be smart…
