An awkward teenage masterpiece that was perfectly casted and cleverly filmed. The references to classic cinema made me smile and the playful cinematic shots were so great! You can tell a film lover created this movie ❤️

First- I’d like to give Shia a big hug. I know there is a lot of criticism around his behavior. At the end of the day we are all people that need love and healing.

Releasing art into the world about your life - especially about parents and painting them in a truthful light opposed to a glamorous one- is such a vulnerable thing to do. I really hope this was therapeutic for him.

Beautiful film from such a talented person.

This movie became increasingly important with the message: hold onto those you love while you can.

I have to mention it was also hilarious.
A shroom induced Justin Bieber musical number, anyone?

    Laughing through tears.

I will never watch another musical without comparing it to this one. Damien Chazelle has outdone himself at such a young age by writing La La Land (among other notable mentions, such as, Whiplash and Babylon) This film is the definition of romance and brings on the heavy weight of what it means to love someone so much you’ll sacrifice everything to see them happy.
