I think I can safely say that Denis is the best director working as of now. He's made masterpiece after masterpiece in the 2010s and this is another one of those. The world building is amazing, the characters were intriguing and the soundtrack by Zimmer was really fucking good. The film is just a near-perfect blend of spectacle and story. I, for one, cannot wait to rewatch it soon and for part two.

Too Old to Die Young 2019
Prestige television. Mesmerizing score by Martinez, entrancing visuals and superb acting performances by all of the cast members. La Belle Noiseuse 1991
A film more about the process and passion of creation than the actual result. An exhaustive exploration of the relationship between an artist and the muse, the battle of wills between them and the subsequent arising tensions.
Technically, this film is flawless, may it be the impeccable cinematography, the use of long takes or effectiveness of the absence of any sort of music. The extended sequences of constant sketching are truly entrancing, giving us an unfaltering look into the artistic…

La Notte 1961
"Who wrote that?"
"You did."A ghost story. Strangers aimlessly drifting around like they're spectators to their own shallow lives. A true modernist classic centering around the alienation that people feel due to their own inner vacancies. I loved this film more than L'avventura and that's saying something. Antonioni was a god among men.
