Sad and tender film touching on a wide range of themes. While undoubtedly touching in quite a few scenes, I found that emotionally it remained a tad too surface-level for my liking, with nothing really new to say or develop further in any meaningful way. Still, a really pleasant watch.

Court-room drama at its finest. Aided by some masterful performances, this final work of the late Friedkin throws the audience right in the middle of proceedings, managing to create a constant tension despite never leaving the room.
The line between truth and lie, good and evil is soon shown for what it is: blurred and hard to define and I appreciated how the film leaves us with this open question at the end…
