Directors cut provides additional material which puts flesh (no pun intended) on the crusading and other characters personalities and relationships. The battle/siege scenes are phenomenal. I think this might be better than Gladiator I.

L'Avventura 1960
Anna disappears on a boat trip to an island. Her friend, Claudia, concerned about her disappearance as is her lover Sandri though that doesn't stop the remaining couple evolving an awkward attraction to each other. A good start to 1960s alienation and ennui.

The Room Next Door 2024
Disappointed with this film. I don't think it contributed much to the assisted dying debate. I found Martha's behaviour just reflected the entitlement and narcissism of elite American individuals. Her suicide plan was so drawn out and imposed such huge stress on Ingrid that I started to think Ingrid should finish her off! Also, casting Tilda Swinton as both Martha and her daughter failed completely in my view.

Godzilla Minus One 2023
OMG! A truly brilliant film. Great action, a romantic thread, comradeship, and a great musical score. Such an interesting use of a failed Kamikaze pilot' shame. and trauma evolving into an audacious attack on Godzilla as a metaphor for post WWII Japan. This is a keeper.
