Battleship Potemkin 1925
this was so good, the film kept going from moments of calm, to celebration, to disaster and victory.
i think it captures a true revolution, since it recognises it is not perfect, it does not have any "plot armor" and not everyone survives until the end and many die, but it still holds onto revolutionary hope all throughout.
also a fun fact, the original opened with a quote by Leon Trotsky from his "1905"
