I am supposed to love this movie almost regardless of any evidence it gives me to the contrary. I don’t.

The fact of the matter is that I am still angry five days after watching this film that I wasted $5.99 on-demand and two hours of my life watching this odious ode to an icon.

Witty, smart and endearing. Who says that smart kids don’t deserve to have fun, too? These young women demonstrate that it can be done, should be done, and that we can all learn something from those around us who are willing to be open to the world and people around them rather than to build walls around ourselves.

Students and teachers can have healthy relationships that evolve into friendships. Lisa Kudrow continues to be one of the finest scene-stealers on film. Beanie Feldstein has a future. Olivia Wilde may have a found her groove.

Finely crafted, well acted, thoughtful, intricate, focused, humorous, and great fun! It has James Bond with an effective and ponderous southern accent, acting chops from a Miami Vice Star. A coming out for a Righteous Gemstone, another dubious Michael Shannon character which we all enjoy, endearing and strong Christopher Plummer, and a star-in-the -making future Bond girl.

The only thing I am upset about is that I waited six weeks to see it!

Thank you to Rian Johnson for a great time at the theater and a hopeful return for the classic whodunit and a new detective with whom to ponder doughnut holes.
