An intriguing experiment on narrative and idealism that, like many Schrader films, severely lacks the drama that a compelling story needs. Good cinematography and performances though!

She Hate Me 2004
Spike Lee does Enron and debunks lesbianism? I don’t know what he was trying to say with this one but he definitely said it.

In the late 70s/early 80s, a plague struck New Hollywood, leading Coppola, Scorsese, and Spielberg to put out some of the laziest pieces of shit I’ve ever laid eyes on. New York, New York took me TWO entire eight hour night shifts to get through. One from the Heart is a half-Godardian, half fever-dream musical with absolutely zero merit. But this one… 1941 is the cream of the crop, 100% A-grade dogshit cinema. A comedy where not a single joke lands. Imagine getting a nuclear bomb dropped on your country, then living long enough to see something like this made.

I haven’t seen all-stars underdeliver this hard since the KD, Irving, and Harden Brooklyn Nets. A cast of phenomenal actors get together and they’re handed some of the most unserious material known to mankind. Tony Kaye please get some help.
