Sensuous treatment of landscapes, textures, and rhythms. Beautiful, otherworldly, a dream woven from light ! Feeling eager to write a full length review of this which I might when I have more time….

Starts well, then really drags. Flashy, predictable. I think Annie knows herself better than Sean Baker. I l don’t think you can escape the tourism when the characters fail to express what they know or think about the places they inhabit, that inhabits them. While the film is obviously non-judgmental toward swork, the solid veneer of its writing—despite Maddison’s strong performance—makes it feel fairly sanitised at times. And I don’t think its excessive reliance on comedic farce helps with that?

Incredibly scaring and never manages to become repetitive although it should. Harrowing, destroying, cold. Unbroken tracking shots. Really a mechanistic choreography of murder, stripped of any theatrics. Locations are nondescript, almost interchangeable - abandoned factories, homes, empty streets, parking lots - each scene a stark vignette that mirrors the chilling violence of the Troubles. Numbness and wounds that refuse to heal.
