  Impressive but disappointing. Only the 3D version was screened in my area and seeing the film in that format made it difficult to enjoy the restoration of the original films. Some footage was breathtaking  and elicited Audible gasps from the throng watching the film with me. Often, however, scenery and soldiers in the foreground looked like cardboard cutouts due to the 3D treatment. Many scenes created through closeups of original wide shots were blurred and details were washed away. I…

  Black Panther 2018

  Pretty good. I’m not a comic books guy, but the hype made me want to see it on the big screen. Like Wonder Woman, I thought it was a good action movie but it didn’t move me in any way emotionally. Also, like WW, I think BP is an important step forward in pop culture, but I was hoping for more. Lupita Nyong’o is terrific, the best of the actors, which is really saying something. There are no weak links in the cast.
