  The idea was very interesting, and the lead character was well done (decent acting and writing). The acting for the other characters wasn’t really up to snuff, though - especially from the two main antagonists.

  Watched it for the first time since the theater. Still great. Some especially good scenes (the casino, at Eriq La Salle’s house) and good work from Stewart and Jackman as always. Still can’t believe a studio agreed to turn a superhero franchise into a dark, violent, rated R flick like this. I’m happy about it though. (The casino scene was better in the theater, though. Nothing beats a huge sound system for that.)

  This is my third time seeing it, with me ending up disappointed both previous times. I enjoyed it more this time which I guess means that if you lower your expectations enough, and accept it as flawed (and way too slow at some times and way too accelerated at others), then you can enjoy it as a halfway decent movie. I still wish it was better.

  First time seeing this. Great movie. Some really excellent scenes (especially the nighttime party) and a very satisfying ending. What’s more, this might be my favorite Hackman role. He’s exceedingly competent as always, but his personal problems (both in his private life and in his work) feel very real. He’s damaged, and it makes for a great role.
