Thelma 2024
Very few films have confronted the anxieties and challenges of growing old. Maybe it’s because we’re scared to confront the loss of independence that comes with age?
This was a beautiful film. It’s been a long time since I’ve both laughed and cried at a movie, but Thelma made me do both. Seeing both my grandparents, as well as my wife’s grandparents, deal with their transition into their elderly years truly made this film resonate with me. I’m sure others would feel the same.
